Little Brown Bat at Red Rock

This isn't a great video, but he was fast!! This little fellow was out during the day. He was playing with a butterfly. What a great story that would be- the bat and the butterfly! I hope I have a shot of the butterfly, too.

Gino found this enormous flower that looked like morning glory- but gigantic! The pod was a spikey ball- strange! What a beautiful day!

Kimberly and children came over on Saturday- we all had a great time! The children had a wonderful time playing the "dress up for berries game".

We hope to travel one day to visit them on their farm in Iowa.

The kids found lots of sea weed and made a huge pile! They later jumped in! Autumn in Vegas- no leaves but seaweed a plenty!

Field Trip Friday- to Halloween Spirit

This new store just opened in our neighborhood and Gabriel chose it as our field trip! There were lots of gross things inside but everyone had fun pretending through the store. I, on the other hand, had nightmares!!

Fact 1: I find healing in all forms fascinating. I especially love the power of herbal remedies.
Fact 2: My first car was a 1976 Camaro. I had an 8 track player and used to rock out to Heart, Queen, and any other 8 track Goodwill had to offer!
Fact 3: I sing at any given moment. I make up songs about everything- my kids don't know if these songs are "real" or not. Usually a song such as "I love cleaning dog vomit" is totally made up.
Fact 4: I was a DJ in college on the radio station and for "The Pros" DJ-ing at weddings, etc. I was once asked if I was a "lady of the evening" while wearing my sequined DJ shirt by a stranger at an event. I never took a job in Washington DC again!
Fact 5: I went to 3 colleges before graduating. It still only took 4 years! I don't remember much but I was able to get my degree and teach for 5 years before becoming a mom. I taught night school for a year while also teaching during the day.
Fact 6: I worked on a organic farm for a year. I really learned to appreciate the effort organic farmers give to provide us with the best food! I would love to own a farm one day and be self-sufficient.
Fact 7: I brew my own kombucha.
Fact 8: Ketchup really grosses me out. I can't stand the smell, texture and the scraping off the dinner plates. Yuk!

Big field to run in

Freedom was felt by all Friday evening when we all ran in the big grass field.

Trisha's Garden

Trisha has worked hard to create this lovely garden. She has cacti, succulents, ferns, tomato plants, satsuma orange trees, lemon tree and basil. She also has a fountain that she made and added some goldfish. A nice peaceful oasis in our desert yard!

Three Boys, water and rocks...

At the park, the boys enjoyed throwing rocks (landscaping rocks, but who's looking!), watching the turtles and throwing popcorn to the ducks. The breeze was blowing and although it was 100 it didn't feel so hot!

Gabriel gets glow stick in his eye

Glow sticks can explode!!! Gabriel was playing with a glowstick and it exploded and went in his eye. After a call to 911, a visit from the fire department and an eventual helpful hand from poison control, Gabriel was fine. Lolipops are miracle workers.

Trisha earns her BLUE BELT

Today Trisha tested and earned her BLUE belt! Next is red, after is black!! We are so proud of her. The video above shows her sparring (no contact) during her testing in order to show good technique. She is amazing!
