Waterworks today

Today the children had a chance to play with water. Water is so expensive and so they unfortunately have to limit time with one of their all time favorite games. They had a ball putting together an "invention" to move the water around the yard. They used pipes, old hoses, wheel barrow, etc to eventually create a system that would fill the dog water bowl slowly. This system could also water the garden. It was fun to watch them at work! Quite inventive!

Independence Day

Danny shot off some fireworks for the 4th.

Gino was so tired! He finally went in early (well, not really early at 10pm!) and went to sleep. The others stayed out and enjoyed the last of the bottle rockets. We could see the fireworks at Sunset station. They were pretty.

Happy 13th Birthday Patricia Ann

All the boys made Trish some homemade gifts for her birthday. Gabriel made her a necklace with a dog on it. Gino made her a beaded bracelet with her name on it and Roman made her a wooden Christmas tree ornament. The also made wonderful cards. They were all so proud to give the gifts and Trish wore them proudly all day.
Our friends Petra, Elena and Julianna brought over some gifts for Trish. A huge basket of fruit, a gift card for the book store and a game. It was great to have them over. The kids have been kind of stuck here without park days because of the heat.

Trish wanted to make marshmallow frosting for her cake. Really easy recipe, though I haven't made it in years! As you can see the boys absolutely loved it! Her cake was chocolate with chocolate pudding in the middle and marshmallow frosting. It looked wonderful! (I'm still off sugar so I could only look.) She decorated the cake in a really neat design she said she learned how to do on food network.

Abu and Aby got her this beautiful garden statue of a girl reading- perfect for Patricia!
A beautiful "teenager".
Daddy took her to lunch and surprised her with a Ripwave skateboard she has been wanting for months. It's too hot to take her to the park for me, but she tried it in the back yard and all around the house. She's good!
Getting ready to sing....
Art book and art paper with a new pencil... she was awake until almost midnight drawing. What a great day. She recieved phone calls and emails all day with well-wishes for her birthday. Gosh, I'm so fortunate to have her in my life. It's been a terrific 13 years! Now I must go cry- full of emotional happiness of my wonderful life!
